Course Summary
During this course, you will learn how to: 1. Set up a total station. 2. View, edit, add and delete data 3. Install accurate primary control points from scratch (traverse) 4. Install accurate secondary control points (retro targets) 5. Use the total station for measuring and setting out reduced levels 6. Describe a range of methods for plumbing columns and walls 7. Set-up the position and orientation of the total station using the resection or occupied point programs 8. Take a topographical survey and record the results systematically 9. Set out points of known co-ordinates using the stake out function 10. Set out points in relation to a given line using measure to line function 11. Set out points at given chainages and offsets along a radius, e.g. road centerlines using the reference arc function 12. Measure irregular areas and volumes 13. Transfer large amounts of data from the total station to the computer and vice versa 14. Describe the capabilities and limitations of GNNS equipment 15. Describe the capabilities of robotic total stations 16. Set up a pipe laser for pipe installation 17.
